First Thoughts
So I am going to start this review with saying, I have never seen Game Of Thrones before and with that, I thought this would make me not enjoy this game, but it was the opposite, this is another amazing story from Telltale and I can not wait for the next episode!
Story
For Obvious Reasons I’m not going to spoil the story so here are some points why the story is AMAZING
So I had to read up on this as previously stated, I have not seen Game of Thrones, but this is how the story goes;
The story focuses on House Forrester, a family that has not yet been introduced in the television series (Game of Thrones), it is not a prequel, and the events of the game will take place over several years, starting from the time of the end of season three of the television series and end right before the beginning of season five of the series. The game follows the house of Forrester as previously stated above, a house built over fifteen hundred years ago, and seated at Ironrath, an imposing stronghold surrounded by towering ironwood trees. There is much more to the story but the best part of Telltale games are the stories so speaking to much about that will make it less exciting to play.
Gameplay
The gameplay follows many other Telltale games, but if you have not played a Telltale game, it’s basically a point-and-click graphic adventure, so by this what I mean is you point to your options giving you the ability to explore different items have many different conversations with various people again with the game concentrating on story, you must be quick with your options of response to each question and make the decision you feel comfortable with making, everything about this game and other Telltale games for that matter always have a unique and fresh experience. while playing the game you will also notice that you take the role of 3 different Characters giving you a wider thought of decisions and how it can affect each person.
Graphics
The graphics to this Telltale game are very different to other Telltale games, it still has the same basic style of graphics as other Telltale games but it is slightly more realistic as many other Telltale games are like graphic novels, I personally like both types of graphics that Telltale have to offer in the games and it is fresh and new all the time.
Sound
The sound gets better and better. I can’t fault it with a story based game your going to need amazing voice actors and this game has it and I cant wait to the next episode to hear more from each character’s point of view.
Lasting Appeal
Bearing in mind this is the first episode so there is still 5 more coming, but if you want, you can retry the first episode, choosing different options and seeing how different situations turn out.
Final Thoughts
My final thoughts are; for someone who doesn’t watch Game of Thrones, this is another really gripping story from telltale and I cant wait for the next episodes, I definitely recommend checking this out if you’re a fan of the television series or even if you don’t watch it and you have played other telltale games you should try this as it is amazing.
