The next Assassin’s Creed game has been leaked onto the internet with word of a new setting and more aswell as screenshots and a release window.

The next entry in the Assassin’s Creed series has been leaked over a year before release thanks to an industry insider. The leak was first reported on the site Kotaku. The leak which has since been confirmed by Ubisoft to be true takes the series to a completely new setting traveling from French Revolution Paris to Victorian London (A setting fans of the series have long pined for.)

The game currently titled Assassin’s Creed: Victory will showcase some of the things that made London unique in these times from shady back alleys to stagecoaches and more. What’s more the game is being developed by a completely different studio than the previous entries with Ubisoft Quebec taking the reigns from Ubisoft Montreal who have done all of the main entries in the series since the first game released all the way back in 2007. This however isn’t Ubisoft Quebec’s first involvement with the series since the studio developed the Downloadable Content entries for both AC III & AC IV in the form of The Tyranny of King Washington and Freedom Cry.

In addition to this; the leak also states that this will be the only Assassin’s Creed game to be released next year instead of 2 entries like this year had with Unity & Rogue. The game also appears to be running on the Anvil engine used in Assassin’s Creed: Unity which as many players of Unity will know is a brilliant engine for the series.

In addition to this a Video showed off footage of the game which seems to indicate it is pretty far into development. The video starts off with an assassin climbing up a tower and overlooking London with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament in the distance (As seen in the top screenshot) before diving into a street below and accepting a contract to assassinate a Templar who is trafficking little girls. Shortly after the carriage gets attacked which leads to a sword fight on top of the moving carriage which then continues in a train station nearby. Apparently after the fight; The Assassin ascends higher and then uses a Grappling Hook (A first for the series) to swing across the station and take out his target.

As with most leaks; Many assumed this just to be a rumor however Ubisoft confirmed that this was indeed the next game in the series with the following statement:

“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”

As of right now it looks likely that we will hear more about Assassin’s Creed: Victory next year at the earliest so stay tuned to this space for more news on the game as its revealed.

Assassin’s Creed: Victory is set to be released next fall for the PS4, Xbox One & PC.
