Microsoft has confirmed that it’s working with original Crackdown creator Dave Jones to bring forth a reboot of the open world experience onto the Xbox One in the future, and has rolled out a stunning cinematic video showing some of the action that will be possible in the new game.
The original Crackdown appeared in 2007 for the Xbox 360 and impressed many with it’s brilliant open world features in which player hunted down Mob bosses and caused all sorts of mayhem and destruction.
As with a lot of impressive titles Crackdown managed to get a sequel in the form of Crackdown 2 and it was highly anticipated but unfortunately could not deliver the promises we were all hoping for.
And now Microsoft have decided to Reboot the series with the creatively named Crackdown for the XBONE and admittedly it looks quite impressive.
“Developed by original creator Dave Jones, Crackdown on Xbox One will deliver unrivaled verticality, cooperative mayhem and destruction. Whether you’re playing the Campaign with friends or enjoying an entirely new competitive Crackdown experience powered by Xbox Live, you’ll never look at an open-world game the same way again,” the company said on the Xbox Wire.
In order to get people excited about the new experience, a special cinematic trailer has been revealed at E3 2014, so check it out below.
