THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON THE PRODUCER MODE IN THE GAME
The Story
A group named MOB48 are stealing shares from the CPUs of Gamindustri so your character is tasked to become a Producer to manage one of the CPUs and get back their popularity and save the Land of Gamindustri.
So there isn’t much to talk about story wise but the important thing is the CPUs that you manage my favorite personally was Noire who was a very cocky character that was a little mean but overall her character development was very well done.
The Gameplay
THIS GAME IS VERY DIFFERENT TO THE OTHERS IN THE SERIES , JUST A SMALL WARNING
You are tasked with acquiring ” Shares ” which can be obtained through performing Publicity events, Ad campaigns and putting on Concerts these were surprisingly fun and I really enjoyed the obtaining fans and shares other than putting on Concerts themselves which involves choosing the Song, Costume, Venue, Stage Effects and Positioning of your CPU while the song is playing you can operate the different Stage Effects during the song which I do wish was a little more to do maybe if you could control your CPU during the song and it is disappointing that you aren’t able to do so. You are also able to give lessons to the CPU such as vocal lessons as a fan of these simulation style gameplay features I had more fun doing this than the actual Concerts aswell.
The Sound
The soundtrack in the game is full on JPOP goodness all of the songs are exactly what I want, exciting, fast paced and very enjoyable but I do have to say I couldn’t really enjoy the songs when I was trying to use the stage effects during a Concert. The voice acting was good especially for Noire, but some characters mainly Blanc fell flat for me.
The Graphics
Producing Perfection doesn’t do the greatest job with the power of the Vita at it’s disposal as the game is mainly spent in menus but the way the CPUs are displayed is good and well drawn the 3D models are decent but as I said they aren’t anything special.
Lasting Appeal
With 4 different CPUs to choose from Multiple Endings and other game modes to choose from, HyperDimension Neptunia : Producing Perfection is a good purchase to make especially if this is your type of game.
Final Thoughts
Overall HyperDimension Neptunia : Producing Perfection is a very different game in the series but if you can get over the change in style then you will find a very fun if not slightly flawed experience
