The Witch & The Hundred Knight
Developed by Nippon Ichi Software

The Story:
You are the legendary Hundred Knight, who works for the swamp witch Metallia who wishes for the world to be covered in mud, she sends out the Hundred Knight to see that her goals are met.
The Gameplay:
Witch and Hundred Knight is an Action RPG similar to Diablo that plays from a top down perspective and you proceed through stages, collect loot and fight bosses, you can also level up get different pieces of equipment, which will lead into the combat in the game you have five slots which you can fit different weapons into these can consist of spears, swords and axes etc, you equip them to each numbered slot and perform combos with them it’s a good idea, each enemy is weak to a particular type of weapon or magic spell and I like the versatility you can have in the game. Another mechanic is Raiding which is a little side addition where you can attack people’s home and steal loot depending on how high your level is.
The Sound:
The Soundtrack in Witch and Hundred Knight is interesting you could compare it to Disgaea which is another Nippon Ichi series the music is very odd sounding and hard to describe but it’s still fun to listen to especially the Boss Theme which is fantastic. The voice acting is pretty good with Metallia being the stand out performance.
The Graphics:
Definitely the games biggest flaw for a game being released in 2014 the Graphics are very poor with the environments and characters looking very rough and to be honest I have seen PS2 games that look better than this i’m not one for complaining about graphics but it had to be addressed.
Lasting Appeal:
There are lots of different things to do in the game, collecting weapons and raiding houses is some of the better things I can think of I still dont think I’ve found all of the things possible to do so I’ll be looking forward to finding more.but be warned the game took a while to get started as the tutorial was over an hour long.
Final Thoughts:
Overall Witch and Hundred Knight is a fun game to play, the gameplay is good, the soundtrack is interesting but the game for being released in 2014 looks very dated and it takes a while to get started.
My Score – 7.5/10
The Good:
- Fun Gameplay
- Nice Soundtrack
- Good Voice Acting
The Bad:
- Very Dated Graphics
- Long Tutorial
